Preparation Instructions
Pizza base mix makes 2 pizza bases
240ml lukewarm semi skimmed milk
10ml (2tsp) white vinegar
Olive oil to brush
2 flat baking trays
Oven 15 mins
Electric 220C, Fan 200C, Gas 7
To make Pizza Bases: Empty the pizza base mix into a bowl and add the milk and vinegar. Bind the mix together into a large ball. Turn out onto the worktop and bring together to form a smooth ball of dough. Divide the dough into 2 and place between 2 pieces of cling film, roll out each piece to approx. 9\ round for a deep pan pizza or 12\ for a thinner base. Remove dough from between the 2 sheets of cling film and place on the baking trays, cover with cling film and leave to prove for 15 mins in a warm place. Remove the cling film and add your toppings of choice (see serving suggestion). Using a pastry brush, brush the edges of the pizza base with the olive oil. Bake in the middle of the oven for 15 mins or until golden brown and toppings are cooked through. Check the pizzas are piping hot before serving.
Serving Suggestion
Once the bases have proved, spread 3 tbsp of prepared tomato pizza topping or 2 tbsp of tomato pure across the pizza base and sprinkle over 80g of grated mozzarella and any other toppings of your choice.
Flour is a raw ingredient and must be thoroughly cooked or baked before eating.
